Geza X is a veteran record producer with 40 years of experience documenting folk artists and pop culture. He was one of the first (and only) professionals to capture the Punk Rock explosion in 1977, creating seminal recordings of bands such as Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Screamers, Weirdos, Germs, Redd Kross, and over 100 other noteworthy underground bands. Less known are the multitude of hip-hop songs he engineered in the classic 1990's for producers like Ice-T, Rhyme Syndicate, Sir Jinx, and Battlecat. He had a multi-platinum commercial hit with Meredith Brooks' feminist anthem "Bitch", which was RIAA-certified #1 on Billboard's Pop charts for 4 weeks. He currently operates a multimedia recording and video studio in the Downtown Los Angeles Arts District. Pictured with him at Studio X are engineers and talent scouts Deb Benham and Juliette Amoroso.
The label started as a result of Studio X's popularity as a mastering house. Geza grew frustrated seeing great music with difficult subject matter being ignored by the corporate record industry. Geza feels that the giant monopolies avoid social issues, to the detriment of the public interest and the Arts. His legendary punk rock and hip hop classic recordings prove that good stories stand the test of time, often giving a window into public affairs that would otherwise go unnoticed. In todays market, anyone with enough experience can launch a record company. So Geza collected his allies and decided to challenge the pop world. Their goal is to serve a higher artistic purpose--commercial Top 40 with a message. Are you in?

BILLBOARD MAGAZINE:
Meredith Brooks was looking for a deal when Geza X first heard BITCH. He decided to produce the demo that became the Number One Multiplatinum Hit.
From the moment Geza X heard HOLIDAY IN CAMBODIA, he knew it would be a hit. He produced the song in San Fransisco and it went on to sell several million copies worldwide. He went on to record over 500 punk titles.
In the early 90's, few engineers knew how to operate the SP-12 and MPC-60 samplers used by beatmaker DJ's and synchronize those to tape. Pictured is Ice-T and Rhyme Syndicate's best-seller, THE ICEBERG.
From 1977 to 1989, Geza recorded Soul, R&B, and Funk at several leading LA studios for artists such as Little Richard, Chambers Brothers & Natalie Cole. Pictured is Keith Washington's #1 R&B classic, MAKE TIME FOR LOVE.
